Description: This feature class dataset is composed of points representing fire hydrants in the potable water infrastructure system of Hillsborough County, Florida. The primary function of the fire hydrant is to provide access to water for fire suppression. In addition, hydrants can also be useful for flushing lines, venting lines and pressure and flow testing.The dataset was developed to represent the location of fire hydrants for the purpose of mapping, analysis, planning and maintenance of utilities. The accuracy of this data varies and should not be used for precise measurements or calculation of point features representing hydrants in the Hillsborough County Potable WaterInfrastructure System.
