<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This dataset is composed of point features of eagle nests documented by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the EagleWatch Program. Accuracy of the nest locations varies based on documentation method but is generally estimated to be within 0.1 miles of the true location. For nests monitored by EagleWatch, the nest data provided is current through the end of the 2023-2024 nesting season. Bald Eagles and Bald Eagle nests are protected by state (68A-16.002, F.A.C.) and federal laws (Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act). Nests may not be removed without a federal permit. Additional guidelines and permitting requirements exist for work planned near an active Bald Eagle nest during the breeding season (generally October to May in Florida). For permitting guidance, please visit the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Technical Assistance Web Page. Not all Bald Eagle nests in Florida have been documented. Non-documented nests receive the same level of protections as documented nests. </SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
