For the purpose of asset management by PWD, the term “shoulder is used to identify roadway extents where there are no curbs (see Curbs, above). Generally speaking, if the edge of the pavement abuts against natural ground, then the term shoulder will be applied. Shoulders, like curbs, do not continue through intersections. Use the same guidelines for determining the endpoints of shoulders as is used for curbs.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
